Jane Ascroft ACA MA (Cantab) - Personal Profile
I am a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. I also have a mathematics degree from Cambridge University and am a qualified teacher.
I started my accountancy training in Bristol in 1996 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1999 when I also moved back up to the north of England. I have 12 years experience as an accountant, all of those spent helping small businesses and charities reach their potential.
My other interests include the following:
- Financial Trustee of North Pennines Heritage Trust, working to conserve the historic remains of man's activities in the landscape of the Northern Pennines and to help people to understand and enjoy them. www.npht.com
- Carrying out voluntary examinations of the accounts for small local charities in association with 2D (Support for the Voluntary and Community Sector of Teesdale and Weardale). www.2d.org.uk
- Treasurer of the Pinnacle Club, a national rock climbing club for women. www.pinnacleclub.co.uk
Apart from business and other interests, personal hobbies include mountaineering, rock climbing and mountain biking. I am married to Roland, an IT systems developer.
